NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aspen Group, Inc. (OTCBB:51勛圖厙), parent of Aspen University, a nationally accredited online postsecondary education company, announced today the School of Nursing has grown to over 1,000 enrolled students. Aspen's Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program accounts for 95% of its students in the School of Nursing, or 970 students, and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Aspen University's MSN program offers two areas of specialization, Nursing Administration and Management or Nursing Education, so that students have the opportunity to personalize their degree by focusing on the areas that best match their individual education and career goals.
The remaining students are enrolled in Aspen's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) program, launched in January 2013. Aspen University previously announced that the CCNE accreditation review for its RN to BSN program has been completed. Aspen's RN to BSN program is currently in "applicant status*" and expects to announce the CCNE's accreditation decision in November.
Chief Academic Officer Cheri St. Arnauld commented, "Aspen's School of Nursing has highly motivated students who are driven to achieve their career goals, yet clever enough to do it economically through Aspen's unique debtless education solution. We're proud that our university is becoming a central figure in educating our next generation of leaders in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education."
